The Campaign for Real Ale is a voluntary organisation which celebrates its 39th Birthday this year and now has around 110,000 ordinary drinkers as members.  It is run by an unpaid, elected National Executive and backed by a small core of professional executives. It speaks for drinkers everywhere in fighting to save pubs and breweries from closure, and in attempting to improve quality and to ensure pub standards are raised.
