Theobald Arms

                            King's Walk, Grays, RM17 6HR

Friendly and traditional, family-run local in the riverside area of Grays, opposite Town Wharf. 2 bars, both of which serve renowned Real Ales and home-cooked food (Monday to Friday). The Saloon Bar is comfortable and TV-free. The Public Bar includes a dartboard together with an unusual hexagonal rotating pool table! Both bars have access to outdoor drinking areas - the Public Bar leads onto a secluded adults-only area.

                Traitors Gate

                       42 Broadway, Little Thurrock, Grays, RM17 6EW

This 19th Century pub was once know as the Half Moon, and has had a varied history since then.  An early entry in the Good Beer Guide, it went through a “bad patch”, but with change in name came a change for the better, and two regularly-changing Real Ales. Branch Pub of the Year in 2005.  Why not take a look! or even go in and try a pint!

               White Hart

Kings Walk, Argent Street, Grays, RM17 6HR

Another pub with a “mixed” past but now a Free House with a wide range of cask ales. Crouch Vale Brewers Gold, Champion Ale of Britain 2005 & 6, is the permanent offering, and a mild or stout is always available. A Rotating selection of top quality bitters completes the picture, or you may like to sample a Belgian Beer; an increasingly-popular tipple.  Hosts Regular Beer Festivals.  Branch Pub of the Year in 2007 & 2008.

GRAYS

People’s views on Grays differ!.. Some only think of the delights? (or otherwise) of the industrial past and present, Lakeside, the M25 and the Dartford Crossing.

However, here are (in strictly alphabetical order) three real pubs (all in the current Good Beer Guide) that you might like to escape to!
