TRANSPORT & LOCATION

There is Car Parking at the Festival (but this is limited) and drinking also restricts your ability to drive.  We do NOT encourage Drink-Driving.  Those requiring directions to the Festival should set their SAT-NAV to the Post Code CO6 2DS and follow the signs to Chappel & Wakes Colne Station.

We advocate the use of Public Transport as far as possible and there are good public transport links to the Festival.

TRAIN - A Special train service is operated by National Express East Anglia for the duration of the Festival, with extra trains and extra connecting trains stopping at Marks Tey. Last Train home is 2325. Special Timetables for the Marks Tey - Sudbury Branch and connections

BUS - Eastern National Bus route 88 runs until Late Evening and stops on the main road in the village, near the crossroads & Chappel Post Office.
BEERS
Beer List for 2009 will be displayed here in late August and will be updated with significant changes as the Festival approaches.

BANDS
Due to problems with noise in the past we have had to restrict the type of music available. This year two bands will play. Tues & Weds Nights are "Quiet" Nights.
Thurs is Songs From The Blue House - Click this link to see details
Fri & Sat Nights  Sixteen String Jack.
We hope to have some Morris Dancers performing as well Saturday Afternoon.
CAMPING

There is a field set aside for campers adjacent to the Festival.  While camping is free, services and facilities are very limited, or even non-existent, e.g. the only toilets available are on the station, which is several minutes walk away.  Camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with full preference given to staff.
Camping is not allowed anywhere else (including the car park).

We must not damage the field, to avoid upsetting the Farmer, so if you are camping, please read the rules attached in the link below.
Camping Rules
CHILDREN

The festival welcomes well-behaved children until 7.30pm each day, provided that they are accompanied by their parents or guardians at all times.  Please note we do not have a crèche or other supervised areas for children.

There are numerous opportunities for uncontrolled children to injure themselves by climbing on railway exhibits, etc.  It is therefore paramount that all children are supervised at all times and any children found to be unsupervised, or misbehaving will be asked to leave the festival along with their parents or guardians.
Please note that we will not tolerate the sale of alcohol to (or consumption of alcohol by) persons under 18 years of age.

Acceptable forms of identification for those who are 18 or over (but are fortunate enough to look younger), are a valid Passport, current Driving Licence (with photo ID) or a 'PASS accredited proof-of-age card' with the 'Pass' Hologram
